Down by the Bay

After Grandma and Aunt Chrissy went home this morning, we took the girls for hike at the Berkeley Marina.

Mommy and Lily with a view of San Francisco.

Our little family down at the water. Elsa left, Lily right.

Lily and Daddy caught a ladybug. Lily found it quite interesting.

Picture from home, Elsa sitting on Mark's shoulders. You can see where she gets her wild hair.

Grandma and Aunt Chris are here!

Grandma holding Elsa left and Lily right.

The five girls. Lily left, Elsa right. We think. Mark says they both look like Elsa in this picture. They are starting to fool us. We might need to get them nametags!
Note from Mark: It's definitely Elsa left, Lily right... a tough one, but I'm certain now.
Note from Emily: That's what I thought, too. But, everyone told me I was wrong!

Aunt Chris holding Lily left, Elsa right.

The girls wearing overalls from Grandma. (Lily left, Elsa right).

Daddy and the girls in pjs. (Lily left, Elsa right).

This one is for Elsa's baby-book. Check out that drool!

More Baptism Information

I want to extend an invitation to Elsa and Lily's Baptism on April 3rd. It will be in Columbus, Indiana, at Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Ron Panning's church. We would be honored to have our family and friends join us. Columbus is a cute little town famous for its architecture.

I apologize for the lack of formality, but by the time I get a chance to send out paper invitations the Baptism might be long since past. Since it is a long way for many people to travel, we will also be taking the girl's up to NW Indiana following the Baptism. If you are able to attend, the pertinent information follows. Contact me by phone or email, and I will forward along Kathy and Ron's address and contact information for the celebration afterwards. We would like to get a tentative head count together for planning purposes. Since the service starts relatively early, Kathy has very helpfully blocked a set of discounted hotel rooms for people needing a place to stay overnight (info below). The rooms must be reserved by March 18th. Please take note that April 3rd begins daylight savings time. However, southern Indiana does not change their clocks. Don't want people to arrive too early!

Who: Elsa and Lillian Panning

When: Sunday April 3rd, 9am service

Where: First Lutheran Church
3600 25th Street
Columbus, IN 47203

Party to follow at Grandma and Grandpa Panning's (Kathy and Ron's) house.

A note from Grandma Kathy
"a block of rooms has been set aside at the Sleep Inn on SR 46 near the I- 65 intersection in Columbus for the night of Saturday, April 2. They are non-smoking, 2 queen bed rooms, but they can be exchanged for those with other furnishings, such as one king bed, if those are still available. The Sleep Inn is the newest motel in Columbus and has an indoor pool, sauna, and fitness center. It is adjacent to a really good family restaurant called the Riviera and near many others. The block rate is $69.95 plus tax per night and includes a continental breakfast. You can call anytime before March 18th to their local toll free # 1-866-802-1100 or regular # 1-812-372-7200 and ask to reserve a room at the Panning Baptism block rate. After March 18th, the remaining rooms will automatically be released from the block."

Rockstars

The girls have been expanding their musical horizons. They are officially into rattles and putting things in their mouth. So, listening to music and dancing has become a lot more fun.

Could we have another trumpet player in the family? I swear this picture was not posed at all. Elsa put the instrument right to her mouth. Mark was so excited. But, I'm not so sure if she's that discriminating yet. Just moments before she was also licking the tambourine.

Mark giving his musical appreciation lecture. They are listening to the Beatles Help album. Lily's giving daddy a big smile. They got the cute music set from Eve Henry. Thanks so much. Obviously, it is a big hit!

Finally, Elsa showing off her head control. Both my girls can hold their heads up like wonder-women.

Grandma and Grandpa P. have made is safely back to Indiana. We had a great visit. I got a cold the last couple days and forgot to take more pictures. But, I'm sure Grandma has a whole bunch that she will share with us.

Now, we get two weeks off before our next company: Grandma A and Great-Aunt Chris. Looking forward to our Girls Week!
