Elsa caught a snowflake

Please excuse the messy postings. Mark and I have been experimenting with Flickr. I think it will be a much easier way to store/upload/print our pictures. Our old fashioned FTP method is quite cumbersome. But, I'm just getting the hang of this. For those in the know, how can you include multiple pictures when you try and blog directly from Flickr. My senior technical adviser is at work right now.

As you can see, the girls have been enjoying some of our recent snow. Finally it looks and feels like winter. Elsa caught a snowflake on her tongue. And we were able to build a little snowman together. The girls really love snowmen.

Over the weekend, the girls caught their first stomach bug. They took turns puking Friday night (Elsa) and Sunday night (Lily). I thought everyone was better until Lily suddenly spiked a 101 degree (armpit temperature) fever on Monday. It scared me. The girls have never really been sick before aside from some sniffles. Lily seems to be recovering. This morning she finally got her appetite back and demanded chicken nuggets at 6AM. Now we're hoping that sleep gets back to normal. They've been waking up before 5am all week and taking big naps mid-day. Mom and Dad are a little worn out.

In happy news, we got into our first choice preschool. The girls begin at the University League Preschool in September. It just so happens that our new playgroup originally started as a meeting place for younger siblings at the school. Something to do while their big brothers and sisters are at school. So, we've had the chance to meet a lot of their future classmates. I've even met a couple of kids born in September 04, so they won't be the only young ones in their class. The school is a cooperative, meaning the parents actually "work" there a couple days per month. I'm really excited about meeting the other moms and dads. It seems like a nice community. The girls will be going 5 mornings a week with the possibility of adding lunches or full-days. So, this will give me some good options for possibly getting a part-time job. That would be my ideal situation. So fingers crossed, it will all work out. I've been slowly applying for work this Winter and haven't heard back from anybody. Maybe the timing would work better in the Fall. Childcare vs finding a job is a real chicken/egg issue. Which do you find first?

UNLS is a 'fine' school--if you can overlook its pathetic football team. (and that's real football for the euro crowd). elsa and lily have the genes for an historic backfield combo. please get them into the newark ymca daycare/football program.
